Leather and Vinyl Care
Keep your leather beautiful for years to come by using these helpful tips
Follow these instructions to clean new leather or vinyl (be sure to use mild soap and warm water):
1. Mix the warm water with the mild soap and wash the leather or vinyl surface area you are cleaning.
2. Then rinse the surface thoroughly and let it dry.
Stain Treatment:
Use a solution of water and baking soda.
1. Combine the water and baking soda and mix thoroughly.
2. Start from the outside and work your way in to the center and gently rub the stained area.
3. Then, rinse thoroughly, and let the surface dry completely.
IMPORTANT: Never use ammonia or abrasives on leather or vinyl.
Old Leather Restoration:You will need lanolin, or castor oil, and water for this
1. Pour the lanolin or the castor oil into a glass jar.
2. Put the jar into a pot of water and heat it on a stove.
3. You'll want to uUse a clean, soft cloth for putting the oil onto the leather.
4. Once you've applied to the leather fully, allow it to soak in for quite some time - - at least 24 hours.
5. After the "soaking in" period, buff the leather to a shine with a clean cloth.
General Leather Cleaning:You'll need saddle soap and clean cloths for this.
1. Wipe away any surface dust and dirt with a clean, soft cloth.
2. Next, with a damp cloth, rub the saddle soap in to the surface working it into a lather.
3. Remove any excess soap with a clean damp cloth.
4. Use a clean, dry cloth to polish the surface later.
